Posters

1) In my first iteration, I thought of going for a poster which first (left side) displayed people sad and alone in the context of their hobby and in the second instance (right side) showcased the same person happy partaking in the same hobby with a plus one and happy about it.
2) Here I thought of going for a more storytelling approach. So I thought of making a “comic-like” poster on which the solution to the problem ends up being FaciMate. But this ended up being a bit too on the nose as well. So I decided to go back to the drawing board.
3) With the 2nd iteration in mind, I tried to stick to the storytelling approach, but this time I tried to water down the experience and “let the pictures do the talking”.
4) Maybe one iteration too many, but with this one, I dwelled upon the “let the pictures do the talking” and whilst keeping the K.I.S.S principle in mind I ended up going for something a bit plain. But with one little trick up my sleeve. Here I try to use a psychological trick where I use the images to imply an “all roads lead to ….” not Rome, but FaciMate. To get a user to always end up looking there no matter where they first look when they look at the poster.
Summary
During the designs of my posters, I knew I wanted to include as many pictures as possible of the various hobbies that would be available on my app.
During my exploration of my main idea, I started thinking in different directions due to my 1st idea feeling slightly cheesy and the "easy way out" popularly taken when promoting a product.
My next steps were to develop additional ideas, each with its own central theme.

Ubuntu - small detail because of the meaning of it and it suited my poster as well
Coming soon - I used this as my comic font. I feel it's not so cartoony as comic-sans, and since my images are real images.
